Mass of Peace – Sunday, June 21

In response to the tragic killings of church parishioners in Charleston a few days ago, St. Alphonsus will celebrate a Mass of Peace at the 5 p.m. liturgy this Sunday, June 21st.  Fr. Andrew Wawrzyn will preach, and members of the St. Alphonsus Choir and the Community Renewal Chorus will sing. The congregation will have many chances to participate in singing songs of peace and hope. A hymn-sing will begin at 4:45 p.m., fifteen minutes before Mass. Worshipers are encouraged to come a bit early and add their voices to this healing music before Mass.

Any choir members interested in adding your voice to our songs of peace, please gather at the church at 4pm.

“You took something really precious from me. I will never talk to her again,” the daughter of 70-year-old Ethel Lance, one of nine people killed in Wednesday’s massacre, said. “But I forgive you and have mercy on your soul. You hurt me. You hurt a lot of people. But God forgives you. I forgive you.”

Welcome

Welcome to our website.  My name is Thomas Henniger and I am the current President of the Board of Directors for the chorus.  During this last spring semester, we embarked on a journey to identify a new Music Director to take the place of Gerome Bell, who stepped down in June after 20 faithful years.  Please join us in welcoming Interim Director Brian Bloye.

As you can see from his biography below, Brian brings a number of exciting skills and a passion for the group.  Please get involved and either audition as a singer or attend our programs as we move forward with them!  Watch this site for the new and interesting events to come.  Continue reading
