We Shall Have a Song
Music to heal a divided world
In a world of seemingly deep divisions, the Community Renewal Chorus(CRC) uses music to imagine a world of togetherness and common ground in We Shall Have aSong: Music to heal a divided world on May 18 & 19.
With words from the book of Isaiah in Randall Thompson’s The Peaceable Kingdom to Where Have All the Flowers Gone? by Pete Seeger, What the World Needs Now is Love from Burt Bacharach to A New Commandment by Thomas Tallis, and styles from polyphony and classical to rock and gospel, CRC explores love and peace, the dangers of war and violence, and the promise of living and working together.
Additional selections will include Kyrie andGloria from the Gospel Mass by Robert Ray, John Rutter’s For the Beauty of the Earth, Aaron Copland’s The Promise of Living, Down by the Riverside arranged by Lon Beery and Pamela Perec Lee and arrangements from Rollo Dilworth to Ben E. King and MarkWilberg. Don’t miss this concert!
