How do you hook up a chorus pedal?
Here are the steps to get everything connected.
- Make sure your amp is turned off.
- Connect your guitar cable to your guitar.
- Then plug the other end into the “input” side of your pedal.
- Plug another guitar cable into the “output” side of your pedal.
- Then plug the other end into the “input” on your amp.
What order do pedals go on a pedalboard?
I tend to connect any distortion devices and high-gain pedals first in line, and the lower-gain pedals later. I have found that the higher-gain devices control sustain, and the lower-gain devices control the tone if they are connected in this order. Modulation devices can come next.
Does chorus go before or after reverb?
Moving your modulation/delay/ reverb effects around can create different sounds. If you want tremolo’d reverb (for example, I’d call a Fender Princeton a reverb -into-tremolo effect), place your reverb before your tremolo. If you want chorus ‘d delay, try placing your chorus after your delay. Etc.
Where should a looper go in a pedal chain?
Loopers aren’t effects—they’re recorders. Normally, you’ll want the looper to be able to record and playback any of your sounds. Of course, this means you should place it at the very end of the chain so it can hear and record whatever pedal combinations you use.
Is a chorus pedal worth it?
A chorus pedal is a great way to create thicker sounds from a single signal. By taking your source signal, doubling it and setting the second signal slightly out of tune and time with the first, a chorus pedal can create the sound of two instruments playing simultaneously.
Is a chorus pedal necessary?
No one really “needs” any pedals. If you love chorus, then get one. Variety makes the world go round.
What comes first phaser or chorus?
Traditionally you want your phaser first, then flanger and chorus in whatever order after that. But there’s nothing wrong with putting your chorus first and phaser last. That’s how neat sounds get created. I’ve had my chorus before my phaser for years.
What pedals should every guitarist have?

Do I need both delay and reverb?
If you just want a fuller sound for recording and live purposes, and your amp doesn’t feature reverb (or has a poor quality one, which is quite common), then the reverb pedal is your best bet. If, however, you want to be more experimental, or just want to make your solos sound cool, then go for the delay pedal.
Should I get a delay or reverb pedal first?
In a guitar signal chain, the delay unit is generally placed before a reverb pedal, but it’s up to the individual musician to decide on the order. Putting delay before reverb can muddy up the sound, so most guitarists prefer placing it after the delay.
Should a chorus pedal be in the effects loop?
Gain based effects such as and overdrive/distortion pedals come next. Modulation effects such as chorus, flangers, phasers typically come next in the chain. Time based effects such as delays and reverbs work best at the end of the signal chain.
What loop pedal does Ed Sheeran use?

As with most modulation effects, Phaser traditionally sits towards the back end of your pedal chain, after everything except ambient effects like reverb and delay. This means the effect will apply to everything in your chain so far, including distortion, EQ, filters and more.
